Imagine children tentatively entering a world of friendship, remotely. Imagine these children becoming trusting of these friends, and eventually dependant. They disregard their friends’ genders, ages and races. They want only to learn more about each other, and eventually they meet. They face adversaries and adversity in powers that far outweigh their own expectations of themselves; but they believe in each other and gain the strength to pull through. They face harrowing amounts of loss and come face to face with their own deaths. They watch as their friends die, and they wait for death themselves. And they still fight on. With nothing left to save, they fight on. For the sake of worlds they are never meant to meet, they fight on. They never give up. In fear, in despair, in solitude and in chaos, they fight together. United, regardless of the worlds that separate them.
Homestuck, to me, is the greatest tale of friendship ever told.
